So now that I've deferred from uni, I'm realizing I have a lot more time to literally sit on my ass and catch up on all my TV shows, and I bloody love it. First up ima talk about the ever intriguing 13 Reasons Why. I loved this show from the beginning and when I heard season two was out all I could think was "yaaaas drama, drama, drama".

Not only is this show controversial and raises many issues to do with mental health and every day life as a teen, it's also just a bloody great show. I was so into season two I found myself just thinking about these characters like all the time, if I saw Clay walk into my work I'd be like "hey what's up??!!" without a question. These characters really took over my life with how real and relatable they are, I was swimming in a pool of my own tears after almost every episode.

Although I loved this show, I did find some of the themes quite alarming. One of these themes I would say, is how almost none of the characters reach out to their parents for help and they keep all of their problems to themselves. I guess I found this so strange because it was the one theme I couldn't relate to at this point in my life, and it made me feel lucky that I have a support system at home, unlike characters such as Tyler and Clay. After thinking more about this theme of keeping things to yourself and not going home to tell your mum, made me delve deeper into my memories of high school until I realized that this was so true. It made me think back to the time that boys said gross things to me and called me gross names but it was just the norm to laugh at them at take it as a compliment rather than stand up for myself let alone anyone else call them out for it, this may well not have been the case for everyone but that is how I always felt as a teenager at school. Watching characters such as Hannah and Chloe and their experiences with boys made me remember how teenagers really don't tell their parents everything. I was so impressed by season two of 13 Reasons Why and also the Netflix special of Behind The Reasons, a brilliant TV show with amazing acting and such relatable themes, truly worthy of a good Netflix binge #fuckbryce #13reasonswhy
